POWERING THE ROSELAND COMMUNITY
WHAT WE DO
Commercial Solar Installation: We provide commercial solar design and installation at competitive rates. Partnering with us allows local businesses to transition to clean energy while directly supporting a local, worker-owned workforce.
Community Solar Access: Residents can subscribe to our local solar projects without needing to install panels on their own roofs. These subscriptions are structured to help reduce monthly electricity costs, aligned with state solar program frameworks.

Democratic Control: Every subscriber becomes a member of the cooperative, giving residents a direct vote and an equity stake in how local energy resources are managed.
Cooperative Ownership: Our workers have a clear path to becoming full co-owners of the business. This means having an equal vote in company decisions and a direct share in the cooperative's profits.

Solar Training and Jobs: We provide free hands-on training in solar installation and cooperative management to Roseland residents interested in becoming Worker-Owners
-
The Roseland Theatre Project: Our clean energy projects are connected to the redevelopment of the historic Roseland Theatre and nearby properties, which are being restored for community use.

-
Environmental Justice: Communities that have historically faced environmental burdens should also benefit from the transition to clean energy. Local ownership helps ensure those benefits stay in the neighborhood.
The Renewable Energy Cooperative (RECO) brings clean energy, local jobs, and financial benefits directly to Roseland through a cooperative model. We are entirely owned and run by our solar installation workers and the neighborhood residents who subscribe to our power.

Here is what we offer across our community:
HOWÂ RECO WORKS FOR THE COMMUNITY
POWERED BY ILLINOIS CLEAN ENERGY LEGISLATION
Our work is made possible by state legislation designed to build a cleaner, more equitable future. Through the Future Energy Jobs Act (FEJA) and the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), Illinois has committed to 100% clean energy by 2050. These laws specifically fund community solar projects and green job training to ensure environmental justice communities like Roseland directly benefit from the clean energy transition.

We utilize state incentives from Illinois Shines and Illinois Solar for All to make solar power accessible and affordable. By leveraging these programs, we can lower energy costs for limited-income households while maintaining fair business practices that keep local wealth in Roseland.Â
